Mono : "The Flames Beyond The Cold Mountain"

I felt inclined to post this live performance of "The Flames Beyond The Cold Mountain", by Mono, due to various things I have read over the web in the last couple months. This Japanese quartet have been accused of plagiarising bands such as Mogwai's sound, and I suppose they have up to a point.

But then, if bands didn't 'plagiarise', where would the likes of Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix be. I would like to think Mono, have been influenced by Mogwai's music to an extent, that they formed a band in homage.

Besides, "The Flames Beyond...", from their 2006 "You Are There" album, is epic in every sense of the word and, quite frankly, tremendous with a capital T.

Not only that, their collaboration with World's End Girlfriend, "Palmless Prayer/Mass Murder Refrain" has been one of the most (if not THE most) enjoyable releases I have heard all year. In short, give this great band a break!.
