Lope

Although they may no longer be recording together, Labradford have certainly left a huge legacy of fans that have been influenced to merge glacial atmospherics with distorted and hazy guitars. Lope, from Sweden, is one such musician. He believes his music to be the "sound of his universe".

Having previously had a split release with the likes of Absent Without Leave and Yellow6 you can imagine what his music will be like. But, it is on the superb "Panik", that Lope's true talent emerges. It mixes those Mogwai-esque vocoder vocals with the aforementioned Labradford atmospherics and muted beats, to quite stunning effect.

This review hits the nail squarely on the head....

"....Glacial chamber electronics and layered guitar effects, creating some absorbing beauty that doesn't disappoint...."

His mix of influences such as Mogwai, Labradford, Brian Eno and bedroom electronica ensures Lope has a captivating and celestial sound.
