Is 2007 Going To Be The Greatest Musical Year In History?

Possibly, if like me, you are eagerly anticipating new releases from Radiohead, Portishead, Port-Royal, Our Sleepless Forest, Epic45, Explosions In The Sky, Eluvium, Crippled Black Phoenix, Fridge, Arcade Fire, Spiritualized, Massive Attack and Do Make Say Think. Of course, there is no guarentee that both Radiohead and Portishead will release anything this year. In fact, I would be gobsmakced if they do. But, we can only hope!. And, how could I forget?, I cannot wait to hear Nick Cave's new band, Grinderman too. There will be a limited download only single coming out around February 2007, you can stream it here

What other releases are people "eagerly anticipating" this year?

Labels: , , , ,

Explosions In The Sky and Do Make Say Think have leaked as well as Maserati's new album. I "eagerly" and anxiously expect Interpol and Modest Mouse's new releases and from the post-rock side, i've heard that grails and a silver mt. zion are preparing new albums next year.
Oh, bye the way, happy new year ! And your site is still great :)Congrats from Romania

Oh, it's not a double post :P. I'm very curious to find out your reactions regarding the silent ballet's top 50. Do you agree, disagree? How about Magyar Posse being number one? (i still think that Kings of Time is better than Random Avenger, maybe i'm just being sentimental and stuff)

King of Time, sorry

To be honest I haven't ever listened to Magyar Posse, so I couldnt possibly comment there. But i thought Mogwai's Zidane album should have been in there and a few others like Grails and The Ascent Of Everest should have been higher
